Boxers are ranked according to ability and accomplishments in their respective weight classes. Fighters may be removed if they have been inactive for over 18 months and still have no fights scheduled.
Lineal Boxing Champion’s long-standing, independent, non-computerised, monthly divisional ratings, began on April 6th, 2019 – at this time, no such ratings existed in women’s professional boxing.
The international panel that produces the ratings, consists of ten boxing analysts, from nine different countries.
Junior Featherweight
Following her wide unanimous decision victory over Melissa Oddessa Parker on September 15th, Erika Cruz enters the 122lb ratings at #5, nudging Cherneka Johnson out of the top five. Next up for Cruz, is #3 -ranked Mayerlin Rivas on November 18th.
Featherweight
With Cruz now focusing on the 122lb weight class, she exits the 126lb ratings, allowing last month’s 2 – 4 to each move up a place. Daniela Bermudez notched up her second TKO win at featherweight this year, stopping Lucrecia Manzur in round three on September 23rd; Bermudez enters the 126lb ratings at #5.
Lightweight
Caroline Dubois had been hovering just above the 135lb lightweight limit, but weighed 134lb for her dominating, IBO-title winning fight against the highly experienced, 22-6-4, Magali Rodriguez, on September 30th. This, along with her June 2023 victory over Yanina Lescano, in which Dubois and Lescano weighed 136lb and 137lb respectively, result in the Briton entering at #2 in the lightweight ratings. Moneo falls to #3. Farias and Dixon remain at #4 and #5, while Mekhaled exits.
Pound-for-Pound
McCaskill remains the Lineal Welterweight Champion, but in her two most recent fights, she lost unanimously to Chantelle Cameron (at 140lb) and drew against 6-1, Sandy Ryan, in what an overwhelming number of analysts from the boxing fraternity saw as a clear win for the Briton. 39-year-old McCaskill retains her Lineal crown, but now exits out pound-for-pound top ten. Yesica Nery Plata, who in January won the vacant Junior Flyweight Lineal Championship but beating Kim Clavel, enters at #10.
