Women's Monthly Rankings: March 4th 2023

UPDATES

* The Lineal Boxing Champion monthly ratings are produced by an international panel of 10 boxing analysts. Boxers are ranked according to ability and accomplishments in their respective weight classes. Fighters may be removed if they have been inactive for over 18 months and still have no fights scheduled.

Strawweight

Seniesa Estrada (WBA titlist) is scheduled to take on Tina Rupprecht (WBC titlist) on March 25th. Although Estrada is the clear No.1 at 105lb, this bout is not for the vacant Lineal Championship, as all independent ratings in boxing have Yokasta Valle (WBO/IBF titlist) ranked as Estrada’s chief rival, not Rupprecht. Since July 2021, Rupprecht has had just one fight and that was against Rocio Gaspar, a woman who has never beaten an opponent with a winning record – Rupprecht has only had two fights in the last three years. Rupprecht did win a close decision over Valle nearly five years ago, but since then Valle has won 14 consecutive fights, including beating Thi Nguyen (who was ranked #4 at the time, following her October 2021 victory over #2 ranked, Etsuko Tada) and Evelin Bermudez in her last two bouts.

Boxing ratings, as of March 4, 2023:

LBC: Estrada (#1), Valle (#2), Rupprecht (#3). Ring: Estrada (#1), Valle (#2), Rupprecht (#3). ESPN: Estrada (#1), Valle (#2), Rupprecht (#3). BoxRec: Estrada (#1), Valle (#2), Rupprecht (#3).

Katia Gutierrez exits due to inactivity. Germany’s 15-0, Sarah Bormann, enters at #5.

Junior Bantamweight

Yessica Chavez has not fought since July 2021, therefore exits the ratings. American, Adelaida Ruiz, 12-0-1, enters at #5.

Featherweight

Amanda Serrano Vs Erika Cruz filled Lineal vacancy at 126lb. Serrano’s 10-round unanimous decision victory over the Mexican means she is now the true Lineal Champion of the weight class. Cruz, Mahfoud, Carabajal and Meinke each move up a spot, making way for Raven Chapman, who enters at #5.

Super Middleweight

Shadasia Green’s 6th round TKO of Elin Cederroos on February 4th, moves her up a place to #2 in the ratings; Cederroos drops to #3.
