UPDATES
* The Lineal Boxing Champion monthly ratings are produced by an international panel of 10 boxing analysts. Boxers are ranked according to ability and accomplishments in their respective weight classes. Fighters may be removed if they have been inactive for over 18 months and still have no fights scheduled.
Flyweight
Arely Mucino moves to No.1 following her split decision over Leonela Yudica - the close nature of the loss, results in the experienced Argentine entering our ratings at No.5, bumping Jaqueline Calvo out. Kenia Enriquez impressed when stopping Nora Cardoza on October 28th, so climbs to No.2. Fujioka drops to No.3.
Junior Lightweight
In a battle of the best two women at Junior Lightweight, Baumgardner came out on top, defeating Mayer by 10-round split decision, to become the inaugural Lineal Champion of the division. Elhem Mekhaled fills the No.5 spot.
Welterweight
Cecilia Braekhus, whose last fight was a points loss to McCaskill in March 2021, exits the ratings. Layla McCarter moves to No.1 and Ivana Habazin (who widely outscored Diana Prazak on October 22), enters at No.2.
Heavyweight
Despite her inactivity, for the time being, Hanna Gabriels will remain our No.1 ranked Heavyweight. Gabriels had been scheduled to fight Paola Roch on August 13th in Colombia earlier this year, but the the fight got rescheduled and then cancelled. This unfortunate cancellation, combined with the general lack of competition and action in the Heavyweight divison, means Gabriels will be allowed more time before being dropped from our ratings.
Pound-for-pound Update
Shields reclaims the P4P No.1 spot following her impressive unanimous decision over KO-artist and leading rival, Savannah Marshall, in London. Although some members of our panel felt Katie Taylor deserved to hang onto the top spot, the Irishwoman and Amanda Serrano fall to No.2 and No.3 respectively. Alycia Baumgardner’s narrow points win over Mikaela Mayer to fill the Lineal Championship vacancy at 130lbs, resulted in her entering the P4P list at No.7. Mayer and Marshall have got nudged off the list, with Luna Avila re-entering at No.10.
