The Lineal World Championship at Cruiserweight has been vacant since Terence Crawford relinquished the crown in 2015.
On October 18th, 2020, Vasyl Lomachenko fights Teofimo Lopez, at the Bubble, MCG Grande, Las Vegas, in a bout that Lineal Boxing Champion recognizes as being for the vacant Lineal Cruiserweight World Championship.
Lomachenko and Lopez are rated #1 and #2 respectively, in all four leading independent ratings, as recorded on October 18th, 2020, prior to the bout (ESPN, Ring, TBRB and Boxing News).
The ratings at World Boxing News and Left Hook Boxing also have the two fighters listed as the top two at 135lbs. Lopez holds the IBF belt. Lomachenko holds the Ring, WBC Franchise, WBO and WBA Super belts. The vacant TBRB title is also at stake. Incidentally Devin Haney (WBC title holder) is #4 with the TBRB, #2 with Ring (behind Ring champion, Lomachenko and #1 contender Lopez), #8 with Boxing News, and #5 with ESPN.
